Art Wellness Workshop: Expressive Painting for Emotional Well-being

This art wellness workshop combines acrylic painting with other creative processes (such as writing, movement, music, mindfulness & drama prompts), to promote self-compassion, self-love and positive   personal expression. 


Participants will:


  • Engage in ice-breakers & energizers
  • Participate in energizer activities
  • Focus on the process of being creative rather than the product that results. It is for everyone and does not require art training or “talent” in art. 
  • Will engage in their your own creative process and follow it where it leads.
  • Be encouraged to share their art (if they feel comfortable).

Art Wellness Workshop: Mindfulness & Art

This arts wellness workshop focuses on mindfulness and art. Activities are meant to promote relaxation and self-awareness. 


Participants will: 


  • Engage in Ice-breakers & energizers
  • Participate in expressive arts-based mindfulness activities
  • Experience guided meditation
  • Explore self-awareness through visual journal writing


Emphasis is on the creative process. 


This workshop can be customized for young children, youth and adults. It is for everyone and does not require art training or “talent”. in art. 

Socratic Style Presentation & Art Workshop: Abstract Expressionism

This socratic style presentation and art workshop includes:


  •  An introduction and mini-lesson about the abstract expressionism art movement
  • Highlights about the lives of abstract expressionist painters (historic and contemporary)
  • Facilitated socratic style partner share, small group and whole group discussion
  • Open studio style expressive art-making session 
  • Participant share-out of artwork


This workshop can be customized for young children, youth and adults. It is for everyone and does not require art training or “talent”. in art.

Participants will:

  • Engage in reflective activities about self-esteem

This arts wellness workshop focuses on arts-based trauma-sensitive mindfulness practices. Emphasis is on the creative process, positive identity expression and connection. Activities are meant to promote self-awareness, positive personal expression, and emotional self-regulation.

Participants will:

  • Engage in Ice-breakers & energizers
  • Participate in expressive arts-based trauma-sensitive mindfulness activities
  • Learn strategies to support  emotional self-regulation

Expressive Arts Wellness Workshops are arts-based programs designed to promote self-care, emotional well-being, intrapersonal awareness and nourish interpersonal abilities. 

All expressive arts wellness workshops are customized to meet client goals and logistical needs. Each workshop facilitates art-making activities such as painting, drawing, collage, visual mapping with post it notes, visual journaling, poetry, drama, music, movement,  personal narrative writing, and creative socratic discussions based on curated artworks and readings. The art-making activities promote self-expression and reflection about emotions, motivations, beliefs and goals.


LOGISTICS


Workshops can be formatted for one-on-one, small group and large class sessions. The curriculum focuses on supporting inner wellness. Workshops can be designed for the following duration lengths:

  • 1 hour 
  • 2 hours
  • 3 hours ( with 1 short break)
  • 4 hours (with 1-2 short breaks)
  • 6 hours (with 2-3 short breaks)
  • 8 hours (with lunch break, and 3 short breaks)
